Temporary Business (Long Stay) – Subclass 457

This visa is for employers who would like to employ overseas workers to fill nominated skilled positions in Australia. This is the most commonly used visa for employers to sponsor overseas workers to work in Australia on a temporary basis. This visa may lead to the Australian permanent residency (PR) after an employee worked for his employer whilst on 457 visa for at least 2 years in an occupation listed in CSOL.

Employers can be either:

• Australian businesses
• Overseas businesses

With subclass 457 visa you can employ overseas workers for a period of between one day and four years.

With subclass 457 visa those people you employ from overseas can:

• work in Australia for a period of between one day and four years
• bring any eligible secondary applicants with them to Australia – secondary applicants can work and study
• after entering Australia, have no limit on the number of times they travel in and out of Australia.
